Today, our front page leads with a torrent file. A string of numbers, compiled in a Beijing laboratory, has rendered the U.S. Commerce Department’s chip blockade useless. In the next column, we report on a shortage of solid rocket motors—a physical bottleneck in Raytheon's factories that has forced a pause in American airstrikes on Iran. Across the page, we track the war risk premiums of London underwriters, who have quieted the Strait of Hormuz by pricing ships out of the water, and we visit Bordeaux, where vineyards are burning and the harvest is tainted by ash.
